Support GroupsGroups are available for women (16 years and older) who are abused or have been abused. (There is no fee for the groups) Sessions are held at the YWCA of Schenectady.
Empowerment GroupsOpen to the public, topics include but are not limited to: Loneliness, Healthy Relationships, Assertiveness, Coping with Visitation, Self-Esteem Building and Goal Setting. Sign up for this 8 week session. Class meets for one hour each week. Date to be determined. For information and registration call 374-3394, ext 144. |
CounselingConfidential and supportive counseling: women (16 years and older) who are abused and their children (5 years and up). Flexible hours available. Call 374-3394, ext 144. |
Housing
The Housing Program offers women eighteen years and older, safe and supportive services including emergency, temporary or permanent housing. There are 55 rooms that are dedicated to homeless women, with on-going support and referral for education, employment placement, medical care, chemical dependency & mental health issues, social services and basic needs. |
